Dear Editor,

I'd like to point out a typographical error in The Montana Professor's printing of my review of Katie Roiphe's The Morning After (Spring 1994, 33) which may cause some confusion to readers. Roiphe did incorrectly claim that the 1985 Ms. rape study concluded that 25% of college women are raped, but the actual percentage of rapes found in the study was not 75.3%, as appeared in the spring issue, but 15.3%; this finding means that Roiphe's 25% figure is based on both rapes and rape attempts (reported by another 11.8% of the women surveyed).

Sincerely,

Deborah Schaffer
Professor of English
MSU-Billings

Editor's Note: Our apologies to Professor Schaffer for our mistake which so unfortunately changed the meaning of the statement. [This error is corrected in our website version.]
