MUS Benefits Watch

The new MUS Benefits Plan, as Prof. Coffey points out in his article in this issue, is going through a transition. Decisions are being made that may not always be in the best interest of the faculty. Additionally, the new plan is immensely more complicated than the old and faculty members may need help in understanding it. For these reasons the editors have established a MUS Benefits Watch column. Prof. Jerry Coffey (English, MSU-Bozeman) has inaugurated the column with his article: "MUS Benefits Plan in Transition." He has agreed to contribute others in future issues, subject to the usual time constraints. Where faculty members have questions about the plan, Jerry is willing to try to answer them. His phone number is: (406) 994-5327.

His e-mail address is: <uenjc@gemini.oscs.montana.edu>.

MP E-mail Address

We have a new e-mail address which is independent of the university system: <mtprof1@attbi.com>.

MP Home Page

Through the good offices of editorial board member, Steve Lockwood (English, MSU-Northern), The Montana Professor will soon have a home page. Prof. Lockwood has arranged for a group of honor students at Northern to develop and maintain the site. Along with the contents of each regular issue, we are seriously considering a weekly online column to provide a timely forum for concerns that arise between our thrice-yearly publications.

We hope the creation of this page will facilitate communication among the faculty and between the faculty and members of our editorial board. More information will be available in the spring issue and/or by email announcement.
